The closure of HSBC bank became a reality last Friday January 13.

HSBC bank signs removed

By first thing Monday, a lorry had arrived to collect the heavy-duty metal safe and workmen started dismantling the interior. Gone soon were the hanging sign and the brass plate outside the door. As yet there is no news as to what is to become of the premises, but presumably they will be put up for sale.

It is understood that certain HSBC banking facilities are being made available at the Post Office in Crown Way, Station Approach.
