About fifty hardy souls assembled outside St Mary’s Church to take part in the Walk of Witness on Good Friday, April 3, an annual event for people to remember the suffering and death of Jesus Christ organised by Churches Together. The walk went from St Mary’s to Strand Quay and then to Station Approach with readings, prayers and hymns at each stop. The procession, led by various men carrying the cross and Sea Cadet Nathan Halliday beating a drum, included St Mary’s Rector Canon David Frost, Paul Martin, Canon Richard Orchard, Dick Dengate, Father Paul Miskiewicz, Rev Ian Pruden, Rev Fiona Gill and Sonia Relf.

Saturday April 4 there are services at St Mary’s and  St Anthony’s at 8pm; and on Sunday Easter Day at St Mary’s 8am, 10:30am and 6pm; St Anthony’s 8am and 10am; Quakers 10:30am at Tilling Green Centre ; Baptists 10:45am and Methodists 11am.
