If you go down to the Brewery Yard Club on Friday, October 15 from 6pm onwards you’re sure of a big surprise! It’s a free networking opportunity, and all are welcome to attend the newly formed Rye Business Update which hopes to be a regular event, in association with the Rye Chamber of Commerce, aimed at helping local businesses affected by the Covid pandemic.

Did you realise there is a new discretionary grant scheme available which very few seem to know about but which may benefit your business? We understand the government has awarded Rother a further tranche of funding and an additional pot of £550,000 which businesses can apply for, to support them while recovering from the pandemic. To tell you all about it is Councillor Christine Bayliss from Rother District Council who will be happy to answer your questions on the night.

As if that wasn’t enough, also in attendance will be Arabella Ansar who is there to talk about her launch of the A Rye Good Time App which we understand is going great guns and for those who have not yet signed up you will have the chance to talk directly to Arabella and see what it’s all about.

You might normally sit in on a Friday night, put the radio on perhaps? Did you know there is a radio station for Rye? Yes it’s true, Cinque Ports Radio is your new community radio station serving Rye and the Romney Marsh which aims to help local businesses recover from the pandemic by promoting Rye and the surrounding areas to businesses and tourists. Owner and broadcaster, James Clark confirms that in its first month Cinque Ports Radio had over 5,000 listeners and has big plans to expand and broadcast to a larger area and reach a bigger audience.

Keen to become part of the local community, James will also be at the Brewery Yard Club to talk to you about Cinque Ports Radio and how he can help your business with competitively priced advertising and sponsoring packages. For further information why not check out his website.

This free event is the brainchild of Jane Brook from Space Coworking, a positive step towards helping to make a difference to your business. The evening promises to be an upbeat and informative gathering so don’t miss out, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Registration is via the Brewery Yard Club website.
