Political party launches

Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana of Your Party

The new political party announced by former Labour MPs Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana launches its Rye group next week, with a meeting on Thursday September 25 at the Queens Head at 7.30pm.

It’s been organised by Pete McLaren who lives in Rye. He says 800,000 people have signed up for the new party across the UK. “We have been telling people that, if they are fed up with all the established parties, and want an alternative that isn’t racist, then look no further. The Your Party founding statement promises to build something different, progressive and socialist.”

The new party’s Rye group has a Facebook page. Pete McLaren can be contacted on 07881 520626 or pete.mclaren15@gmail.com

Things are looking up at Tilling Green as the residents have set up a new Green Waves Festival, planted trees and erected a new Tilling Green sign. And now a business in the heart of the community has expanded and is offering something new with a fast food restaurant.
