A real Christmas treat

Do you want to pamper a special someone this year? For only £2 you can have a gift-wrapped fireman delivered to their door early on Christmas morning.

This deservedly popular service is run from Rye Fire Station and raises money for the firefighters charity.

Parcels to accompany the firemen may be left at the fire station (off Ferry Road by the level crossing) on Thursday December 24, Christmas Eve, between 9am and 3pm. Usually a fire engine is also on display and children are welcome to inspect it, as a pre-Christmas treat. A team of Santas in vans deliver to addresses in Rye, Rye Harbour, Winchelsea, Winchelsea Beach, Playden, Iden and Camber.

Delight a child or surprise a neighbour on Christmas morning. This is well worth the money and will put a smile on anyone’s face. For many, the best thing about Christmas day is a visit from a fireman with a hug and a present.

Oh, and he will be dressed up as Santa as well. If he isn’t, check your kitchen. The turkey may be a little overdone!
