Congratulations to Geoff Boudreau on notching up 25 years at Grammar School Records, the High Street’s emporium of recorded music, writes Kenneth Bird. To help him celebrate, he invited a gathering of customers and friends on Friday evening August 25.

The next day it was business as usual. The photo shows the shop, stacked out around the walls almost from floor to ceiling and with central displays of LPs and CDs, many of them historic recordings. With its unique atmosphere, afficionados come to seek out hidden gems or offer to sell their treasured collections.
