Rye Food Bank gets fresh

We are happy to report that, for the time being, demand on Rye Food Bank has stabilised.  So far in June we have seen approximately 40 adults per week with around 20 children, comprised of 31 single adults and 13 families.

We continue to receive fantastically generous donations both in goods and money, so that our stores are replenished and balanced properly to ensure clients are given a healthy range of nutritional items. Everyone who comes to the Rye Food Bank receives enough for three meals per day, for at least three days (often more) per person in the household.

The summer months have meant it is possible to provide a wonderful range of fresh goods to our clients. In usual circumstances and as a standard we only stock non-perishable items. But if fresh goods are brought to the Baptist Hall on Wednesday mornings (before the food bank opens at 1pm) our clients are very happy to receive them.

This week Hands of Hope delivered beautiful strawberries along with a range of other lovely organic freshly picked produce.  It is very uplifting for everyone who visits us to see such a sight!

A massive thank you to all our benefactors. Every donation, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated and we are so very blessed and fortunate to be able to run our food bank in the heart of such a generous community.  Thank you all so much.
