Bowling for Ringo

On a fine, but not too hot Tuesday, July 10, 12 members of Rye Bowls Club came together to compete for the ‘Ringo’ Cup.  Brian Chapman was a former member of Rye Bowls Club and a well-known and well-loved citizen of Rye.
The competition was played as triples, but with the players regularly swapping both partners and opposition while each maintaining their own individual scorecard.
The end of the day saw Carole Osborne emerge as the winner with a shot difference of +26.
A spider competition (also won by Carole) and a raffle completed a most enjoyable day.  Green Bowls is a sport played by all ages, and what better way to spend a few hours, than to get out into the sunshine and enjoy the leisurely game of bowls?
If you have never played before, or are looking to return to the sport, there is a welcome waiting for you at Rye.
