In last weeks edition of Rye News we published an opinion piece by Guy Harris, Lib Dem candidate for Rother District Council Ward for Rye and Winchelsea, entitled A road to ruin? which highlighted the issues with potholes and their repairs (or lack of them).

The lifespan of a pothole repair

Potholes are the bane of many motorists life at present, and there are so many stories about burst tyres, cracked alloys, accidents and near misses, all resulting from the appalling state of some of our roads. The topic seems to have resonated far and wide with Guy’s views being reproduced nationally in The Mail, The Express and The Telegraph ‘Scandalous’ East Sussex pothole repair lasts only nine days before crumbling (telegraph.co.uk)  this week, as spotted by our eagle eyed regular readers.

It just shows you what reach can be achieved if you have the right subject matter to write about. Thanks to Guy Harris for sending in his article and to our readers who spotted similar articles in the nationals – the system works, from little acorns…
