Vodafone’s faulty mast in Playden that has been causing ongoing problems for some customers in the Rye area has now been repaired, writes Nick Taylor. Last week Rye News reported on complaints of calls being constantly cut off, erratic signal strength and text messages sometimes taking hours or even days to be relayed. These problems had lasted for more than a month.

On Wednesday morning this week Rye News contacted the company’s press department again, seeking a further update on the matter. No response was received but later in the day an automated email from the company’s customer service division was sent out which read: “We’ve fixed the network issue we emailed you about in your area TN31 7UE. We are sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused you. We invest £2 million a day in our network to improve, maintain and develop a better experience for you.”
