“Cards for Good Causes” usually opens its seasonal pop up shop in Rye Community Centre in November, but this year has been so different, as their website says and we all know. So you can shop online, though they have organised ‘Click and Collect’ at designated shops but at present not near Rye. There are provisional pop up shop opening dates for Rye on the website.

This organisation, which supports more than 250 local charities, and the Rye shop, pictured above in a previous year, sells not only cards but gifts, advent calendars, wrapping paper and lots more.

Charity Christmas cards, not this year?

Led by an experienced manager, a team of local volunteers works to provide a service to all the charities involved, including our local ones, like Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital trust and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve to name just two, and of course the RNLI, by selling the cards and other Christmas goods. Whether this will happen this year remains to be seen. Volunteers would have to be willing to provide the service, for a start.

The opening dates on the website for Rye are December 4 to December 16, provisional of course on the  Covid-19 requirements, in Rye Community Centre on Conduit Hill. Any new information on progress on opening dates will be available in Rye News and on the website.
