The Rye Homes for Ukraine (H4U) had another valuable meeting at Rye Baptist Church on May 20.

Some of the 15 families in the Rye area, hosts and guests were able to network with local supporters and agencies. MP Sally-Ann Hart popped in to meet, greet and hear about current issues.

It is good news that there has been much progress in finding employment, arranging English language training and schooling. However, with some from the Donbas, uncertainty about the security situation at home remains.

The Rev’d Fiona Gill had acquired some Ukrainian young persons’ bibles, which were gratefully received. Fiona, Sally-Ann and others were asked to sign the frontispiece. Adult bibles in Ukrainian are on the way.

Some children had asked for bicycles and the hub has been able to buy one or two for them.

As usual there were Ukrainian small eats to taste by Natalia.

I thanked Fiona Gill and her team for their Baptist hospitality and some of the individual hosts for continuing to generously provide rooms in their homes.

The next event at the Baptist Church will be June 24 from 10am to noon.
