In 2023 Rye Cricket Club will be celebrating 270 years of cricket in Rye.

The club has a history that reaches back further than most cricket clubs in the world. Rye first played at Camber Castle, then at Gibbets Marsh, before moving to the Rye Cricket Salts in 1844. There are so many stories attached to our history that we hope to provide an evening in September to discover the club’s history.

The committee has been working hard in preparation for this season. The annual general meeting is to be held on Sunday, January 29 at 7:30pm at the Pavilion on the Cricket Salts.

The club will be announcing:

  1. The plans for the 270th season cricket week which is in August, it includes a fixture against a younger club… the MCC;
  2. The signing of two overseas players;
  3. the establishment of a girls only section;

and a full programme of junior and adult cricket with adult nets starting in February and junior coaching programme commencing in March.

We are seeking support from sponsors who would like to work with us during this season for mutual benefit. If you would like to know more about our sponsorship opportunities please contact Martin Blincow: blincsfamily@aol.com.

2023 promises to be an exciting year.
