Icklesham Casuals senior team recorded their first win of the season last Saturday (October 11) away to Little Chelsea. Goals from Val Newman and Phil Badrock put Icklesham two-up early on in the game before Little Chelsea came back strongly and reduced the deficit shortly before half-time. The match was still in the balance in the second period until a screamer from Sean Baker and a further strike from Badrock secured the points.

Unfortunately, the second elevens Robertsbridge Charity Cup fixture against Peasmarch United had to be abandoned after 75 minutes when Icklesham player James Tindall suffered a serious knee injury. The club wish Tindall all the best for a speedy recovery and would like to thank both the referee and Peasmarsh for their excellent co-operation in dealing with the situation.

The side were five-nil down at the time, but this included a 15-minute period at the end of the first half when they conceded four goals. For the remainder of the game they matched their opponents, who are two divisions higher.

Once again the club send their best wishes to Tindall and hope he’ll be back playing soon.
