The Rye Juniors had to contend with rain last week, and saw the Under 11 teams and the Under 15s cancelled. Rye Under 13s recorded a convincing victory Thursday night over Ashford Town Under 13s. Rye restricted Ashford to 90-6 off 20 overs. Oscar Wincott-Stone with 1-1 off 2 overs, and Henry Cooke with 2 good catches led the way in the field.
Rye went past the target in 12 overs. Freddie Furnival with 30 RTD put Rye in a strong position, before Bertie Furnival 9no and Lexy Tuddenham 9no steered Rye home.
On Sunday Rye U15s hosted West Chiltington on tour. A good game saw Chilts posting 168 off 25 overs. In reply Rye scored 161. Joseph Kemsley with 69 supported by George Orpin 20 and James Archer 15 no.
On Monday a good all round performance by the Under 11A team v Mersham Under 11A team saw Rye won by 109 runs in the pairs format. All contributed with bat and ball and with excellent fielding.
Next week on Monday the Under 11A team host Tenterden U11A, on Tuesday the U15s travel to Wye and on Thursday the U13 host Boughton.
