Having lost their opening five league matches of the season the 2nd team of Icklesham Casuals have now won three on the bounce to move out of the relegation places in Division Four of the East Sussex League. The latest victory was a very hard fought 3-2 success over Battle Baptists III at the Recreation Ground on Saturday.

Solly Cooke headed an early opener for Icklesham and that is how the score remained until mid-way through the second half when Battle equalised through Adam Robinson only for a wonder strike from Phil Badrock to put the Casuals back in front.

With 10 minutes remaining, Battle again drew level when Adam Thompsett found the net before a header was deflected into the net off Blue Willoughby for the winner in the closing minutes.

The 1st team were away to a very good Wadhurst United side who top Division One with a 100% record. Dave Pugh’s goal was not enough with Wadhurst narrowly winning 2-1.
