Rye Cricket Club are very grateful for the sponsorship of the Junior Section by Rush Witt and Wilson in the 2022 season as the funds are used to support the ever growing coaching programme. The U11A team got the season off to a winning start with a 36-run victory over Folkestone. The team played with an exemplary maturity that bodes well for the season.

There was an exciting 1 run win for the U15s over Egerton and Rye made 121-3 with Joseph Kemsley 52 retired and Tom O’Neill 50 retired.

Egerton scored 120-7 with Joseph Kemsley 2-5 including a double wicket maiden in the 19th over, Tom O’Neill 1-7, James Archer 1-15, Oscar Wincott-Stone 1-8. Matthew Best also bowled 2 overs for 5 runs at end.

Egerton needed 12 off last 4 overs and 9 off the last over. A couple of crazy run outs, some good fielding by Theo Burton and Oscar Wincott-Stone in the last over saw Rye Under 15s to an exciting win.

The club is particularly looking to develop a girls section. If there are any girls looking to play cricket then please get in touch with Martin Blincow at blincsfamily@aol.com.
