A sold-out audience gathered at the Rye Community Centre on Sunday afternoon 7 June for a special exhibition by Rye Dance Centre, giving pupils the chance to showcase their recent festival performances to friends and family.
The event provided a wonderful opportunity for many relatives and supporters who are unable to travel to the White Rock Theatre to see the dancers perform. The exhibition celebrated not only the children’s talent but also the enormous amount of hard work and dedication that goes into every routine.

From the dancers themselves to the teachers, parents and volunteers who help with costumes, music and props, countless hours are invested in preparing each performance. Sunday’s exhibition allowed these carefully crafted dances to be enjoyed once again by an appreciative local audience.
Performing in a community venue also gave the dancers valuable experience of adapting to different spaces and environments, helping to build their confidence and versatility as performers.

One of the most heartwarming aspects of Rye Dance Centre is the strong bond between its pupils. Younger dancers look up to the older students, while the older children are always on hand to encourage and support the next generation of performers.
Parents and grandparents were full of praise after the show, commenting on the children’s confidence, enthusiasm and the high standard of the performances. Many were amazed by the professionalism displayed by dancers of all ages.
Don’t worry if you missed Sunday’s show. There will be plenty more opportunities to see Rye Dance Centre’s talented dancers in action, as they will be performing at local fetes and community events throughout the summer.
