As previously reported the Rye Art Gallery (RAG) in the High Street opened in August after a five month closure because of lockdown. Sally Cole was the first successful exhibitor.  Though it has finished now, there are a few works in Gallery 1 as you enter. Gallery 2 has a variety of artists, Gallery 4 still shows ‘Seascape’ interspersed with pieces from RAG’s collection.

Abstract by Ken Townsend

Gallery 3 is preparing for a new exciting retrospective of Ken Townsend which will start on Saturday, September 26 and from Saturday, October 17 work from Tom Marsh will be added. The latter pictures are often of local places like Rye Harbour and town spaces.

The trustees have worked hard to make the beautiful space of the gallery safe for Covid-19 and make sure there is distancing as much as possible. So far visitors have been very responsible and followed government directions. Many have paid compliments on the bright space and layout of the gallery, apart from the interesting art available.

The gallery is open every day from 11am – 5pm except for Tuesday. Any further information or how to become a friend please phone 01797 222 433 or email: ryeartgallery@gmail.com or go to the website ryeartgallery.co.uk.
