Taking a sabbatical

Rye News matters a great deal to me and I love writing for lots of local businesses and searching out news but I am emptying my canvas for July and August and reassessing my crazy full-on life. I will however, with my press officer hat on, continue to write articles for the RNLI as it is important to keep its profile in the paper.

I am launching a new business:

Kt Take Two
I have been approached by lots of people who want to take better photos with their iPhone, or iPad and so I am going to give one-to-one tuition so people can gain in confidence and improve their photos. Do get in touch ktbaspect@gmail.com

I have already taken three sessions so far and they have been well received.

Feedback so far:

“I can’t believe how much I learnt in an hour.”

“I now realise that taking photos is an art form in its own right.”

“One hour isn’t enough; I have signed up for more sessions. Kt is a patient teacher who encouraged me all the way. I have been motivated to get out and take photos more often but to observe first.”

I recently gave a talk at the Winchelsea Second Wednesday group about how I became a photographer and all the famous people I have photographed with amusing anecdotes and ended with some handy tips to take better photographs followed by Q and A. Many people who missed the event have asked me to repeat the talk and Jane at The Brewery Yard has kindly offered me her venue on Friday, July 14 at 5pm. This coincides very nicely with cocktail happy hour. So let your hair down on Friday night and come and join the fun. There will be a collection of £5 for the Rye Foodbank which does such sterling work locally.

Anyone signing up for a one-to-one session on the night will receive a complimentary follow up session.
