Community groups in Sussex can apply for a £500 grant to help create climate change resilience in their local community thanks to David Saddington and other speakers at the January 2020 Landscape Innovation Conference, organised by Sussex Wildlife Trust and the University of Sussex.

Fran Southgate, Living Landscapes Advisor at Sussex Wildlife Trust said, ‘We are keen for young people, community groups, social enterprise, community interest companies, schools and student associations to apply with ideas for projects to help combat our current climate emergency in their local area.

‘We are also grateful to our conference speakers who have made this funding available by waiving their speaker fees to promote climate resilience.

‘Groups or individuals can apply, and we are looking forward to receiving some novel and innovative ideas for both practical and creative projects.’

The competition will be judged by a professional panel, and the winner announced at the Landscape Innovation Conference at the University of Sussex on January 23.

You do not have to be a conference delegate to win the prize, but projects must be based in Sussex. The winner will be asked to provide a short report with photos showing the progress and completion of the work.

The deadline for applications is Friday, January 10. To apply and for further details please visit:  sussexwildlifetrust.org.uk/lic
