As expected the food bank was extra busy on Tuesday, December 17, the last open day before Christmas. A queue had formed well before the opening time of 1pm and all the volunteers were busy with last minute preparations to make the experience of visiting a food bank as enjoyable as possible.
Thanks to your generosity, the Bexhill Foodbank Rye branch was able to distribute enough food for three meals per day for three days to to 31 adults and 51 children plus an extra Christmas hamper for families with children.
Everyone volunteering at Rye Foodbank wishes to express heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the generous donations received in the build up to Christmas. Food bank customers appreciated festive donations from the generous people of Rye and expressed their deeply felt gratitude.
Donations to the food bank are welcome at the Baptist church on Cinque Ports Street on Wednesdays between 1pm and 3pm.
