Hunting on the reserve
Rye Harbour Nature Reserve say there have been reports of people using dogs to hunt rabbits on the site. Reserve manager Paul Tinsley-Marshall says anyone seeing illegal activity should call the police. “If you see a suspected wildlife crime taking place, you should call 999 immediately. Gather as much information as possible, including the location, (grid reference/w3w if possible), any vehicles involved (colour, type, number plates), a description of the people, a description of any dogs, and whether there are any firearms involved.”
The information also needs to be passed on to the team at the reserve. “Please let us know about any incidents you have reported to the police. If it’s safe to do so, you can also take pictures or videos and pass them to the police.”
More consultation

The updated Rye Neighbourhood Plan was approved by the town council in December. It’s now with Rother District Council (RDC) who asked for comments and more public consultation until March 7. You can find out more on the RDC website.
Town meeting date confirmed

The evening will start at 6:30pm with an opportunity to talk to councillors and staff along with representatives from the town steward service, Rye Recreation & Wellbeing CIO, Rye Neighbourhood Plan and Rye Heritage Centre.
