Town Hall Butter Market hosted the customary cake and coffee stall last Saturday morning, this time the turn of the Quakers, writes Kenneth Bird. With nothing to buy, passers-by dropped in for a chat and free refreshments. Not over-busy either, but then maybe that’s what you’d expect from people who thrive on silence (some of the time). They were showing the flag peacefully and perhaps making a small difference. That’s what they’re about, they say.
