The ninth staging of the fun ride Le Tour de Rye et Romney Marsh is being held on Sunday September 27 from 9am at the Rye Club in Market Road (Last year’s start shown above). The ride is organised by the Rye and Winchelsea Rotary Club, with the help of Rye and District Wheelers, and all the money raised goes to charities, including Rother First Responders, Rye Community Transport, Rye Scouts and the Sara Lee Trust, writes Heidi Foster.

There are distances for all from 10km turning at Camber, 25km turning at Lydd, with 50km and 100km as well, along a well thought out and marshalled course, so participants enjoy themselves and feel good that they are doing something for the community. All riders get a medal and there are refreshments at the finish.

The cost to enter for adults is a £10.00 donation and for 11-16 years, £6.00. Please follow the link for more information and how to enter. The ride is usually very well supported by Rye Wheelers riders. View on  http://rye-cycle.co.uk . Enquiries to 01797 223574 or ryerotary@hotmail.co.uk. Photo by Derrick Holman.
