RNLI Rye Harbour had a busy day on Sunday, October 15. The day began with training
first thing with lots of modules taken and passed. The crew is dedicated and committed, putting many hours of their daily lives into their modules which they have to pass to keep up-to-date with world-class training from the RNLI. They are volunteers and are give up many family moments and events to be on call.

This was followed by Mark Stephenson manning a stall at Rye fire station’s open day with lots of people attending. A shout followed at 1:16pm to a yacht aground opposite the oil refinery in the river. The Atlantic 85 was soon on the scene, enabling the owners to take their yacht to safety. There are no weekends off for our crew on the boat and on the shore –  just 24/7 commitment and dedication.
