The Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital and Niche, that wonderful boutique on Cinque Ports Street, are fundraising for Rye Community Transport. Niche is hosting one of its amazing fashion shows, helped by Herald and Heart milliners and Rye Retreat, which will be doing hair and makeup.
Always immensely popular and great fun, the show will be held on Thursday, October 13 at the Town Hall. Doors will open at 6:30pm for a 7pm start. Tickets are £10 each, available from Niche or the Hospital. Get yours quickly, they sell like hot cakes! And get there early if you want a decent seat.
All the proceeds will be used to help towards the purchase a new minibus, which will be dedicated in memory of our old friend John Izod, who so sadly passed away recently. This transport will help the whole of our community, and is of interest to the Hospital, as getting around in a rural community can be challenging.
The chairman of the Friends of the Hospital, Sally Compton, explains that the charitable trust is “committed to expanding the services it provides, with the possible provision of both a care home and a day centre, and wants to expand the services provided for our community”.
A jewel of a raffle is also going to be drawn at the fashion show. Peter Farrow, the jewellery craftsman and designer, has offered a £500 piece of bespoke jewellery to the very lucky winner . The raffle tickets are £5 each and can be purchased at Niche Fashion on Cinque Ports Street or at the Fashion Show itself. So, if you can’t get to the show, get to Niche! .
Just to emphasize the date: Thursday October 13 at 6:3opm for 7pm at the Town Hall. Fashion and jewels! What could be better? Hope to see you there!
