(Observations after a perambulation about town – with apologies to Joyce Kilmer)
I think that I shall never do
What far too many do with poo
Which is to leave it lying there,
The product of pets’ derrières.
A poo on pavement, left behind—
Once out of sight, it’s out of mind.
A poo so brown, so stinky, sticky,
Makes navigation rather tricky.
Poos are made by dogs like yours
So pick them up, you lazy boors!

Yes! Yes! A big sign with this poem at the entrance of the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve (Dog Poo Alley) might encourage careless owners to clear up, and myself and many friends that no longer wish to visit because of this nuisance, to return and enjoy our wonderful reserve!
I walk my dog around the cricket pitch field every day always clear up after my dog, take extra poo bags to pick up after lazy dog owners who do not pick up their dogs poo. .Children play here cricket season is starting. CLEAR UP AFTER YOUR DOG.
Rye United had the same problem for years, and we used to have to clean the disgusting mess up on the football pitch down there, sadly the hopeless Rother district council, would not ban dogs from down there,so much for the health and safety of sportsmen.
Bins with the photo of a well-known (but not loved) dictator and bearing the slogan ‘POO TIN’ might encourage dog walkers to act more responsibly in disposing of their pets’ waste! (They are available online.)
