Mothers can come in all shapes and sizes. There is the biological mother, the foster mother, the step-mother, the single mother, a guardian or grandparent.

A mother is an unconditional love-giver, care-giver, taxi-driver, housekeeper, psychologist, cooker, baker, doctor and discipliner. Mothers bear the burden of everything good and bad and many special memories are made each day.

So what has Rye to offer people to celebrate a Mother’s Day with a difference?

Which mother does not like to be pampered?

Naturally Beautiful Massage

Naturally Beautiful Massage is set in a beautiful tranquil spot in Icklesham. Natalie Dodd started her therapy business there in 2016 because she wanted to create a space for people to relax and unwind. Her aim is to help people feel physically and emotionally better when they leave her treatment room. She is warm and is the epitome of caring. Her clients are not just clients, they become friends along the way. Natalie cares about everyone and is generous and raises funds for charity as well. She is the sort of person who makes each day sunnier.

One of her most popular treatments is her hour-long facial which includes a bit of everything: a scalp massage, heated eye-mask and hand and arm massages, and of course the blissful facial. Many of her clients relax so much that they fall asleep.

Natalie is offering a Mother’s Day Pamper package which can be given as a voucher or a booking during the month of March. Cleverly, it is designed for two or three people who come together to share the experience. One thirty-minute treatment each with refreshments and a goody bag is the treat.

Special Mother’s Day breakfast Tibbs Farm

Tibbs Farm is offering cream teas but is, alas, are fully booked for the day; but no need to worry as a wonderful breakfast is on offer as well, where you can start your Mother’s day in style.

Breakfast is served 9am – 11:30am and there is plenty of choice – full English, veggie breakfast, Canadian style pancakes, house granola which is vegan, and butties of different varieties. The farm’s own free-range eggs and sausages from Rye Butcher are used.

On Mother’s Day, the Lime Kiln Café at the discovery centre is offering cream teas, these will be available in addition to the usual drinks and cakes selection.

A mother is the glue that holds a family together so give your mother something a little different this year and support local businesses.
