Landgate Women’s Institute (WI) hosted a Vintage Fair, to celebrate the centenary of the national WI, at St Mary’s Centre on Saturday, June 6, serving up teas and home-made cakes with bric a brac, book, produce, and craft stalls, writes Seana Lanigan. The 35 members of Landgate WI have been preparing for the event for six months and had produced a wonderful eclectic selection of goodies.

Landgate WI grew out of a mother and baby club, founded in 1985 and meets every third Wednesday of the month.  New members are always welcome, just come along to the meetings, held at 10:30am at St Mary’s Centre on Lion Street. There is usually a talk or demonstration at each meeting.
