Northiam Bonfire Society(NBS) has won the support of two prestigious tourist attractions for its inaugural Rother Valley 10k run, to be held on September 17. Competitors will run between Kent & East Sussex Railway’s (K&ESR) Northiam Station to Bodiam Castle (National Trust).

Simon Merrick of NBS said that the financial support of local businesses Gardenscape, Bourne Sport and Northiam Boating Station allowed the Society to go ahead with planning this exciting new venture, and help from Northiam Spar and A&S Services Ltd has been very welcome.

The race will be accurately measured and chip timed by Sports Systems, with Ladies and Mens’ trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, as well as first places in three Masters’ classes (40-49, 50-59, 60+).

Making this a special day out, K&ESR will be running special discounted trains for competitors and supporters. For information on the race and the trains, visit rothervalley10k.co.uk.
