Rye Bay Football Club needs your help

Rye Bay FC has been running since 1996, supporting young people by offering a fun, safe and inclusive environment for football development.

As most people know, the skills learned in any sport are only a fraction of its overall impact. Football also promotes socialisation, supports physical and mental health and builds teamwork – to name just a few benefits.

Grassroots football has fun at its heart, while also teaching healthy competitiveness as children progress through the years.

We have been fortunate to have strong committee leadership at Rye Bay over the years, and we are committed to continuing that tradition. However, in an ever-changing world with increasing pressures on everyone’s time, it has become more difficult to find volunteers who can commit to these roles. We understand that time is precious, but we remain dedicated to providing a safe and positive environment in which our young people can grow.

Sadly, for various reasons, the committee is now a little depleted. Under the guidance of the FA, we must urgently address this by recruiting more members.

The ideal commitment for general committee members is a bi-monthly meeting and attendance at the annual AGM, with additional support for fundraising events where possible.

For core roles – chairperson, treasurer, secretary and welfare officer—we expect monthly meetings. In the interest of transparency, there is also some essential, more intensive work required initially for the core group.

We are seeking people with a little time and a passion for supporting the development of young people to join us.

An Extraordinary General Meeting will be held on Friday 12 December at 7pm at Rye Rugby Club to elect our new committee.
