Whilst Rye’s 1st XI were disappointed with the postponement of their fixture the 2nd XI won there first game of the new campaign at home to Crawleys 2nd XI. Crawley won the toss and decided to bowl hoping to take advantage of the windy conditions. Rye batted steadily with Jack Dudley scoring 39 before h was bowled by James Culverwell.
