Season ends with honours

Icklesham Casuals Football Club held its presentation at Azur in St. Leonards on Friday evening. The 1st team had a difficult year while the 2nd team suffered some heavy defeats early on but improved greatly as the season progressed and, promisingly, contains a number of extremely talented young players. The 2nd team maintained the clubs reputation for playing sporting football by winning the East Sussex Football League Sportsmanship Trophy and the veterans side were crowned Hastings FA Veterans League Champions.

The winners of awards for the season were:

1st Team-
Players’ Player – Jack Davies
Manager’s Player – Stuart Pearson
Leading Goal Scorer – Phil Badrock

2nd Team:
Players’ Player – Joe Lyons
Manager’s Player – Dan Russell
Leading Goal Scorer – Paul Daniels

Other Awards:
Veterans Player of the Year – Sacha Patterson
Young Player of the Year – Joe Fraser
Runner-Up for Young Player – Callum Martin
Colin McPhail Trophy – Stuart Adams (Outstanding contribution to the club over a number of years)
Bert Glazier Cup Winner – Paul Barnett (for Club Man of the Year)

The club’s under 18 team was awarded a trophy for winning the Albion in the Community Tournament at Hastings Academy in February and medals were presented to Val Newman and Robert Palmer for playing 100 games for the club and Jon Fitton received a silver salver in recognition of 300 appearances. Vernon Deller collected his Hastings F.A. Veterans League winners medal
