Neighbourhood Plan gets airing

Last Saturday, January 16, members of the Rye Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group were at the Swap Shop at Tilling Green to discuss the latest draft of the proposed plan covering most aspects of Rye’s future development with local people. This was a good venue as many people came to the Swap Shop and we were able to discuss the plan with them.

In 2014 Rye residents were surveyed about their concerns and the past year has been spent on updating the plan and ensuring it complies with government requirements.

Next Saturday, January 23, the there will be another chance to give your views. This time at the St Mary’s Centre, next to the Kino, between 10:30am and 1:30pm. Please come along and give us your comments.

After this, the plan is being checked by Rother District Council in line with frequently changing government and planning conditions. Then, it is hoped, later in the year the plan will be put to the vote of Rye voters.
