Over the past weeks we’ve featured articles about the Green Waves Community Festival at Tilling Green later this month. This week we are highlighting some of the stalls, entertainment and arena performances on offer, with plenty for everyone.

There will be fun and entertainment for all the family on August 30 and 31 at the community centre.

We have many stalls with a different variety of things to buy, play and possibly win. Just a few to mention: Rye Bonfire Society doing name the dragon, Raybees apiary selling homemade honey and the Tilling Green Residents Association Grand Raffle. There will be a bouncy castle, face painting, crockery smash and other games for all ages.

There will also be performances from ukulele to martial arts to line dancing (see
below) and much more across the weekend, as well as a tug-of-war competition on the Saturday. If you have a group of 5 friends or are a business or community group and would like to join in please contact Graham Ellis at alohajuggler@gmail.com or Dan Lake at daniellake8@hotmail.com.

Why not bring your furry friend for a fantastic dog show organised by Ellie Bourn? You can read all about the dog show in our previous article.

Line dancing at the 2014 Tilling Green fete

Step Up and Dance were regular performers at the Tilling Green Fete back in the day, so we are delighted to welcome them back for the Green Waves Festival on Sunday, August 31 at midday.  Line dancing is a fun way to exercise, stimulate the mind, build self-confidence, relieve stress and make new friends.

Helen Day has been teaching line dancing for many years, so why not give it a try. Classes are held on Tuesdays from 6.30pm-7.30 pm at the Broad Oak pub (no class 3rd Tuesday) and on Wednesdays 6.00pm-7.30pm at Playden WI Hall.
