Whilst in Rye filming the Netflix six-part adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, Olivia Colman visited the Kino cinema where her latest film The Roses is being screened.
The actor, who is playing Mrs Bennett, was in the town filming scenes in Market Street, Mermaid Street and around Ypres tower over three days, as reported last week in Rye News.
The staff were thrilled to meet the star. Chloe Thorneycroft said: “What an absolute pleasure to meet the one and only Olivia Colman! (Yes, we’re screaming!)
“Ms Colman was gracious enough to stop by our cinema and take a picture with the film poster for The Roses starring herself, and even took the time to sign a poster with a lovely message for the Kino Rye team.
“We had a delightful little chat about her film, visiting Rye and the history of the Kino. Then she insisted we took a group photo with the staff – just like the gem she is! Thanks for stopping by our little independent cinema, Olivia!”

The Roses is showing now at Kino Rye.
