There’s a two-day Christmas market at St Michael’s Hospice on Saturday 15 November and Sunday 16 November.

The St Leonards-based hospice supports people in Rother and Hastings to live well with dying, death and loss. Its services are provided through in-patient beds and at home, along with wellbeing support. Expert bereavement help is available for anyone struggling to come to terms with the death of a loved one.

The market will be open from 10.30am until 4pm on both days, offering a mix of seasonal shopping and fun for families with young children. Visitors can browse a wide range of stalls with local handmade crafts, jewellery, gifts and decorations. There’ll also be live music, festive refreshments and games.

There’s also Santa’s Grotto, a cosy cabin in the hospice garden. Booking early is recommended. Visit https://stmichaelshospice.info/santasgrotto

There’s more about the work at the hospice online.

The hospice operates a donation centre in St Leonards-on-Sea where appointments can be made to drop off donations of pre-loved goods. In addition, there are 7 retail shops across the catchment area – including in Rye.

St Michael’s Hospice needs to raise £5.5 million a year to continue providing care and support to the community of Hastings and Rother. The hospice’s services are free of charge.
