Rye Players’ spectacular pantomime, Crazy Christmas at the Haunted Hotel by Paul Johnson, opens at Rye College Theatre in just two weeks’ time on 12-14 December. Traditionally, this is the moment when the box office machine roars into top gear, with daily buzz on social media and a flurry of flyers and posters.

But this year feels different — and in the best possible way. Rye News is one of several dozen organisations and individuals whose unprecedented support means we come to you now with one very clear message: book now while tickets last — we’d hate anyone to miss out! With 14 days to go, it’s entirely possible that the “Sold Out” notice will appear sooner rather than later, especially for the two matinée performances.

Last weekend, the talented and tireless Kt Bruce captured the growing excitement at the rehearsal hut, where the whole cast came together in costume for a dazzling photoshoot.
Rye Dance Centre students found themselves face-to-face with good and bad elves, an eccentric Father Christmas, a stunning Dame and her spirited children, the delightfully unhinged hotel staff and… the Beast.
