It was a busy weekend in Rye’s pubs with the Rye Jazz Festival over the Bank Holiday weekend 28-31 August.

It may have been jazz and blues in many of the town’s pubs, but as always there were other types of music on offer too.

Locals and visitors alike gave a rapturous reception to Long Rider, a group of musicians led by Cal Roberts, manager of The Queens Head in Landgate on Saturday 29 August.

This was the second of two events at The Queens Head in aid of the Beachy Head Chaplaincy. Friday evening saw The Rockitmen pull in the crowds and get them dancing.

And then Rock of Aged gave the audience at The Cricketers a spirited performance of rock classics on the afternoon of Bank Holiday Monday, 31 September.
