The owners of the George in Rye have acquired the Rye Lodge Hotel from James de Courcy, son of the late Kerry de Courcy who was for many years chairman of the Rye Hotels and Caterers Association and a well-known figure about the town.
Described in its brochure as an award-winning boutique hotel, it boasts a swimming pool, spa bath and champagne bar, writes Kenneth Bird.
