This summer, the Rye Society of Artists (RSA) will be holding its 75th annual exhibition in the Dance Studio at the Rye Community Centre from 1 August until 31 August.
This will be a very special year for the Society which, throughout its long history, has always been a centre of excellence for the local artistic community with Royal Academicians amongst its membership.
One vital part of the Society’s mandate is to encourage artists within a 15-mile radius of Rye to submit their work for selection to be shown at our exhibition. This is our invitation to you and a wonderful opportunity for your work to be shown.
If you are selected your work will be displayed, alongside those of the members’ works across two galleries. All work will be for sale and the exhibition attracts thousands of visitors throughout the month.
This year, to celebrate our 75th anniversary, the Society is delighted to announce that The George is sponsoring two prizes for members of the public who are selected to show at this year’s exhibition to the value of £250 each. These will be split between the winners of the 2D and 3D categories. They are also sponsoring two prizes of £250 each for RSA members for winners of 2D and 3D categories.
Also, this year there will be the regular feature of one or two of the selected artists showing at the exhibition being considered for membership to the Society under the late Fred Cuming RA award.
