A selection of artists from the Chalk Gallery in Lewes are exhibiting at Red Door Alchemist Gallery in Rye from July 31 to August 12. The gallery is located at 58 Cinque Ports Street in the heart of the medieval town and opens daily from 11am to 5pm.

Seven chalk artists bring their own touch of magic to entice visitors and art lovers. Showing a variety of media, subjects and techniques, the exhibition features oil paintings by Ursula Stone and Eva Wibberley, earth inks and watercolours from Lindsey Pearson, Jane Bridger’s ceramics, fused glass by Gina Lelliott, abstract oil paintings by Sue Davis and digital art from Vivien Oldfield.

The artists have curated the display to showcase their diverse talents, and there is always an artist present giving visitors the opportunity to meet the exhibiting ‘alchemists’.

Established in 2004, Chalk Gallery is one of the first artist-run cooperative galleries in the UK. New work is exhibited every six weeks, so there is always something new to discover. The light and airy gallery at 4 North Street, Lewes BN7 2PA opens Monday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
