Splitz Dance Academy rehearsed for their show on Saturday, June 16 in rather hot weather. They danced their socks off and were very well-behaved whilst having to wait for their turn to shine on the stage. The dedication of the academy’s teaching staff to enable every child to perform on stage and feel confident was in abundance. They gave gentle guidance to anyone who didn’t quite remember the spot they should have been in and encouragement before and after their performance.

After the show on Sunday afternoon was over, Stacey Caister, owner of the academy, commented: “Over the last thirteen years Splitz have put on numerous performances, but this was one I am incredibly proud of. I am proud of all the students and my team and how amazingly well they coped with the heat and the pace of the performance. The students aged from two and half through to twenty-two gave it their all and were greeted by a sell-out audience which cheered, applauded and encouraged each and every number. Of course, it goes with it saying the tiny ones with their waving and improvisation of some of the numbers drew the largest laughs and cheers!

“The dazzling costumes, lighting and professional sound all added to the atmosphere and gave all the students a chance to perform in a working professional theatre. To see each and every one of them up there gave me enormous pride in all we do at Splitz. Our aim is to build the students’ confidence and offer opportunities to work either with a troupe or individually. We simply couldn’t be prouder of the Splitz family and are now looking forward to a slight break before returning for summer workshops and the new term in September.”
