Love and Friendship [U] 93 mins   Based on the Jane Austen novella “Lady Susan” and set in the 1790s, earlier than most Austen tales, Whit Stillman’s exquisite comedy of matchmaking and heart-breaking concerns beautiful young widow Lady Susan Vernon. The deliciously scheming and manipulative Lady Susan has come to Churchill, the estate of her in-laws, to wait out the colourful rumours about her dalliances circulating through polite society. Whilst ensconced there, she decides to secure a husband for herself and for her eligible but reluctant school-girl daughter Frederica. The waters are troubled by the arrival at Churchill of the handsome, eligible Reginald DeCourcy and silly but cheerful – and very rich – Sir James Martin. Starring Kate Beckinsale, Chloe Sevigny, Xavier Samuel and Stephen Fry.

The Nice Guys [15] 116 mins  Set in 1970s Los Angeles, this action comedy drama follows a private eye and a hired leg-breaker who team up to solve the case of a missing girl and the seemingly unrelated death of a porn star. During their investigation they uncover a shocking conspiracy that reaches up to the highest circles of power. Directed by Shane Black (Lethal Weapon, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) and starring Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling as the wise-cracking buddies.

Our Kind of Traitor [15] 108 mins  While on holiday in Marrakech, an ordinary English couple, Perry and Gail, befriend a flamboyant and charismatic Russian, Dima, who unbeknownst to them is a kingpin money launderer for the Russian mafia. When Dima asks for their help to deliver classified information to the British Secret Services, Perry and Gail get caught in a dangerous world of international espionage and dirty politics, propelled on a perilous journey through Paris and Bern, a safe house in the French Alps, to the murky corners of the City of London and an alliance with the British Government via a ruthless and determined MI6 agent. Based on the John Le Carre novel and starring Ewan McGregor, Stellan Skarsgård, Damian Lewis, Mark Gatiss, Jeremy Northam and Naomi Harris.

But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to…
