Dandelion Charm, a Newhaven-based prog-folk duo, are performing an acoustic set at Rye Harbour Discovery Centre at 6pm on Saturday 15 August.
Progressive folk is having a revival moment; folk music with the free-spirited feel and rich harmonies of progressive rock and jazz, featuring elements like intricate fingerpicking, creating a rich and complex sound.
At the heart of Dandelion Charm’s sound is the interplay between John’s expressive 12-string guitar work and their signature rich vocal harmonies. While their songs often feature the musical depth associated with progressive rock, they never lose sight of melody, storytelling and emotional connection. The result is a collection of songs that are both technically accomplished and instantly accessible.
