Last week Rye Museum members held their annual Christmas party at the East Street site. It was a good chance to catch up with old friends and meet new ones as well as showing new members what it is like to be a member of the Rye Museum.

Finger food was supplied by the industrious group of volunteers, Sue Manktelow, Diana Hajikaku and Heather Stevenson and after food and drink, the members were entertained by Dilys Mayor, Yvonne Hamilton and John Breeds.

They performed some carols and Christmas songs including one specially written by Dilys and, although it was not a nice evening in terms of weather, there was still a good turn out of members.

The next talk at the East Street Museum will be on Thursday February 11 about Old Rural Days given by Melvin Peake.
