The last talk of the Rye Museum 2020/2021 season will be on Thursday, June 17 at 7pm.

Noel Varley will be presenting “Maritime Rye”, covering the River Rother between 1850 and 1950, from the harbour mouth to the Strand Quay, showing some of the industries and boatyards.

Noel has lived in Rye most of his life and once owned a boatyard – “Sea Cruisers” – down by the river. This is sure to be an insightful look at what was once one of Rye’s proudest industries.

Please note that this is the last talk of the season. Talks will resume in September, but we can’t yet say in what form.

If you would like to attend this Zoom lecture, send an email to info@ryemuseum.co.uk for instructions. If you attended a previous talk, you will automatically receive a link. Talks are free for museum members and £5 for non-members. Membership details are on our website or available by email.
