Andrew Viner – Self portrait

McCully & Crane in Cinque Ports Street is described as an eclectic interiors and art gallery. February 24 was the preview night of a local artist, Andrew Viner.  The exhibition will be on for the next two weeks.
Several pictures were sold on the night which he was very pleased about. Although predominantly self taught, he did study art whilst living and working in Brighton and has used knowledge he gained from other artists he admired to simplify his own style.

Andrew says: “I create works in a loose, spontaneous manner to begin with. Then I build them up layer upon layer. Although my paintings are never from the drawing directly, I do rely on the numerous sketches and drawings I do on a daily basis. I have always loved the visceral quality of paint, how it records the energy of movement so beautifully.”
