Amahl and the Night Visitors, a one-act Christmas opera, tells the touching story of a crippled boy who encounters the Three Kings as they follow the Eastern Star with their gifts for the Child. Ryesingers will be performing it in St Mary’s Parish Church, Rye, on Sunday, December 4, at 6:30pm. The concert will also include Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols as well as Advent carols that the audience will enjoy singing with the choir, writes Vivian Donald.
Admission is £10 on the door, £5 for students, with proceeds to be donated to Muscular Dystrophy Research.
